Kiki's Blog: On Rent

Opening Note: Kiki keeps a personal blog, and I find it hilarious. I think its about high time she shared some of her inner thoughts with some of her 'fans' (Kiki apparently has a following that even I don't know of, kekeke). I hope you guys enjoy this recent blogpost/gossip I'm letting you guys in on. Cheers, Joanna. Oh and p.s, these are Kiki's personal views, and though I wholeheartedly agree, Paperdoll does not agree or accept any of these views. Hah.

Rent is due.

Best thing is, the warning letter was dated 29th May, but only sent out on the 6th of June, and we just received it today (23rd June 2009). Who is screwing up over there had better get their act together. Because everyone knows this is one trick they'll be able to claim 'late charges' of us.

Can you imagine that the management is forcing us to pay rent at a mall that does not bring traffic in? I agree, we have to pay rent, it's in the contract that we unfortunately signed (unlike a few tenants who somehow or rather got away with it, and can basically do whatever they choose to). But heck, they are forcing us to pay up during the months we suffered the most and had barely any sales, plus no traffic whatsoever. What nice people they are. The mall wasn't even ready when they started asking us to pay rent intended for a mall which should have been 100% opened by the time we opened.

A few tenants have closed down because of the lack of business. Maybe we should do it too. Then we could open up shop at pasar malam and sell our goods, just to make enough cash to pay their 'rent'. I can already hear the cheers of agreement from some paperdoll supporters. I really think that opening up at Tropicana so early was a really, really, really, bad, bad, bad bad decision. We should have opened up later, much later. And having done so would have resulted in a bigger discount on our uber expensive rent. Yep, we found out those who signed up later got a bigger rent discount, cool huh? I know, asswipes.

I can't believe we actually agreed to sign up with this 'company's' first ever mall - I blame Joanna, she seems to think that everyone/company should be given the benefit of the doubt, but this time I know she's been burnt bad and knows that she would never do this again - that's the hope. Seems to alot of people that this management does not have what it takes to run it properly, and most importantly take care of the tenants that have worked so hard to try and bring people into their mall.

There is some good news though, GSC is finally open, yay! We all can't wait to see the new Transformer movie. We've got crushes on everyone, and every machine in it! Lol. The hope is now that GSC has opened, that the crowd will come rushing in. Well, that's what the management seems to be banking on - and that's why they'll be charging parking starting on the 1st of July. Smart people? Hardly.

5am-11am RM1
11am -10pm RM1

Oh my, I do wonder who will suffer because of the parking rates. The staff who work and drive to Tropicana of course! As the mall opens at 10am and closes at 10pm.

You should have seen the initial prices they were going to charge!

RM1 for the first 3 hours
RM1 for every subsequent hour later

.......

Yeah.. I know. WTF was in my mind as well the minute I got the memo.

I feel so bad for Joanna, I really do. So what's next? Well hopefully a move to a better place, with better rent, and better management. Or, we get sued.
